  1. Position Summary:

The electrical engineer will be responsible for the electrical engineering changes, testing and verification, guiding and supporting the factory and suppliers to implement the changes correctly. Based on customer feedback, improve the design, optimize the process, improve the quality, and do continuous improvement.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide electrical / manufacturing engineering support for systems, assemblies, and components from development through production. This support would include but not limited to the following: designing, assessing manufacturability, BOM (bill of materials) changes, participating in supplier selection/developing, creating/approving work instructions, designing tools and test fixtures, employing lean manufacturing tools, and other duties as required.
  • Lead the technical creation, processing, approval, and implementation of Engineering Changes Orders (ECO), Design Verification Testing (DVT) and Manufacturing Verification Testing (MVT).
  • Design/prepare diagnostic test procedures to perform evaluation assembly/subassembly testing.
  • Create / maintain technical documentation, including schematics, Gerber File, and assembly documentation.
  • Provide effective engineering support to Manufacturing on producing products and or parts for Lectra equipment. Assist Assembly personnel in resolving problems discovered during the manufacturing process. Develop and maintain assembly/test documentation.
  • Participate / employ / teach lean manufacturing techniques thought-out the Supply-Chain to factory.
  • Provide effective engineering support to Supply Chain on producing products and or parts for Lectra equipment (i.e. drawing changes and/or interpretation, supplier requirements).
  • Provide technical assistance on projects such as NPD, cost reductions, source changes, design changes, process improvements, quality improvements, and others as required.
  • Report regularly to management on key tasks and responsibilities to communicate all findings, progress, actions, risk areas, areas where assistance may be needed, and more.
  • Develop a strong working relationship with internal and external customers to provide effective Engineering support.
  1. PoFILE
  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, MS degree preferred, with a minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical design or manufacturing engineering of complex manufactured products required.
  • Working knowledge of electrical design or manufacturing processes and including but not limited to: control system, PCBA, cables/wiring, and lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience with CAD product design and analysis tools for the modification, analysis, and optimization of engineering parts, assemblies, and tooling.
  • Working knowledge of motion control, embedded controls, servo controls.
  • Working knowledge of schematic design and analysis tools.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (MS Word, Excel, Power Point).
