Position Overview: As a Business Development Manager at TextileGenesis, you play a pivotal role in driving the company's growth strategy and expanding our market presence globally. You are responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders across the textile industry. Your primary objective is to promote the adoption of TextileGenesis's traceability solutions, contributing to the advancement of sustainability and transparency initiatives within the sector.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  1. New Business Development: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities by prospecting and engaging with potential clients, including brands, retailers, fibre producers and standard owners in the textile supply chain. Build and maintain a robust pipeline of leads and opportunities.
  2. Sales and Revenue Generation: Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and drive business growth. Lead the end-to-end sales process, from lead generation and qualification to contract negotiation and closing.
  3. Client Relationship Management: Develop and nurture the strategic relationships with existing clients and support the Customer Engagement Team to ensure a high level of satisfaction and retention. This responsibility includes understanding the client's evolving needs, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional services. Your role primarily focuses on managing strategic and commercial client interactions.
  4. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the Customer Engagement team and the Tech team to align business development needs and priorities of the company. Provide regular updates and reports on sales activities, market trends, and competitive intelligence to internal stakeholders.
  5. Strategic Partnerships: Cultivate strategic partnerships and alliances with industry associations, NGOs, technology partners, and other relevant organizations to enhance TextileGenesis's market presence and expand its reach. Collaborate closely with partners to drive joint initiatives and co-create value-added solutions.
  6. Market Research and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, market gaps, and potential business opportunities within the textile industry. Analyse competitor strategies and market dynamics to develop effective sales and marketing strategies.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience: minimum 5 years of work experience in relevant field/position.
  • Textile Industry Knowledge: Understands how the textile supply chain works, including sustainability and traceability concepts.
  • Excellent Communication: Speak and write effectively, run meetings well, deliver sales pitches, and follow up diligently. Ability to give effective and kind feedback with the purpose to grow and develop the company and the individuals in it.
  • Strategic Thinker: Sees the big picture, identifying and seizing market opportunities to benefit the organization.
  • Collaborative Team Player: Enjoys working with others, excelling in fast-paced environments where teamwork is key to success and the structure is not always pre-defined.
  • Self-Motivated and Results-Oriented: Takes initiative to solve problems and achieve goals, always focused on delivering outcomes.
  • Language Proficiency: Demonstrates both written and oral fluency in English and French.
  • Travel: Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
