POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for operational HR Administration arising on a day-to-day basis and responsible for all daily human resources activities in the region Northern Europe and UK. The HR Generalist also manages the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs and provides a wide variety of both complex and routine administrative services and administrative support to the HR Director and HR Business Partner as needed. The position is based in Belgium, ideally in Ghent, alternatively in Brussels.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- HR Administration on a daily basis
- Management of all HR related documents including contract documents (for New Hires, amendments of the employment contract)
- Maintain data on HRIS “MyHR” (SAP Success Factors), management of vacation tool
- Point of contact for employees
- Support the onboarding and offboarding
- Prepare provision calculation for payroll
- Support for Audits, contact person for external service providers and authorities
- Write, revise, edit and proofread company policies and procedures and related documents as needed
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to HR processes and procedures on a continuous basis
- Provide regular and ad-hoc reports to the management and to the HQ following official procedures, including reporting on accruals for vacation
- Pro-actively contribute to the development of a correct social climate and ensure a cohesive team environment and legal and ethical compliance
- Ensure operational effectiveness and exceptional customer service
- Support the recruiting process
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Open minded, hands-on and positive mind set
- Accurate and trustworthy way of working, high confidentiality
- Good expression (oral and written)
- Good knowledge of Belgium labor law, social security and income tax
- Labor law skills in other Northern Europe countries or UK as a plus
- Fluent in Flemish, business fluent in English and French
- MS Office skills
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- College degree in economics/business administration with emphasis on HR or adequate qualification
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an HR Generalist role in an international company
- Experience administering payroll and employee documents
- Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration
