POSITION SUMMARY

The mission of the Field Service Engineer is to ensure that services offered by Lectra are delivered to customers with high quality and professional manner to generate overall customer satisfaction. This includes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, system installation, customer training, and technical support, in close collaboration with expertise centers. The position requires strong technical expertise and problem-solving skills, with a focus on maximizing customer satisfaction, retention, and profitability.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Promote Lectra's preventive maintenance approach, including audits, authentic Lectra maintenance kits and the use of Lectra consumables.
    • Carry out pre-installation, installation, audit, and maintenance of equipment in the field.
    • Conduct customer training on CAM application and maintenance.
    • Troubleshoot and repair equipment, including (but not limited to) software installation, parts replacement and remote report generation.
    • Closely collaborate with the Expertise Center on all field activities.
    • Report service activities on a daily basis in Salesforce.
    • Maintain strong relationships with customers and demonstrate the value of Lectra services.
    • Establish assistance by studying system requirements, ordering necessary components, and performing quality assurance tests.
    • Evaluate products for maintenance, warranty, and upgrades.
    • Prepare and submit work orders, expense reports, and timesheets as required.
    • Constantly strive for improvement in safety, knowledge, professionalism, and customer satisfaction, by adhering to company policies, safety protocols, and operational procedures

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree in electronics, electrical and/or mechanical engineering OR minimum Technical/Trade Certificate, Associate’s degree, or equivalent experience.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in field engineering positions servicing complex electro-mechanical devices in high-demand customer environments
    • Ability to read and understand electrical and pneumatic schematics preferred.
    • Experience with managing and preserving technical equipment.
    • Proficiency in English and French is required.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

    • Strong knowledge of electronics, electrical, and mechanical engineering.
    • Ability to analyze, describe, and resolve technical issues.
    • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Windows operating systems, Oracle, Salesforce CRM, and network fundamentals.
    • Familiarity with TCP/IP and wireless connections.
    • Knowledge of Salesforce CRM or equivalent is an advantage
    • Critical thinker with excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
    • High attention to detail in all maintenance operations.

TRAVEL

  • Must have a valid and current driver’s license and passport.
  • Extensive domestic and international travel for extended periods, based at client sites.
